11.1.11 is the "day of reckoning."
In all seriousness, though, I am looking forward to this, as long as it isn't an MMO. Adding online components, even co-op, would be fine with me as long as, like you said, I can turn it off.
But I thought that Forza 3 was the "definitive racing game of this generation." Forza 4 can't be better than Forza 3 then, because Microsoft doesn't use hyperbole or marketing-speak. /s
They did good with Dragon Age, by most accounts the PS3 version looked a little better, but that was multi-platform from the start. I have full faith in Bioware.
I know that if i try it, I will want to buy it. Long story short, I have games to keep me busy and this doesn't have a bonus for buying it at launch, so I'll wait for the price to go down and I don't want to spend those months wishing I could be playing it. I will almost definitely buy this eventually, though. Any game that got review scores as good as Uncharted 2 has to be really good.
Maybe this is nitpicking, but the "p" in "1080p" is meaningless when you're talking about screenshots.
FF XIII for $19 (the first FF I have not bought) and 3D Dot Game Heroes for $16. I really shouldn't be spending the money when I don't know if I'll get around to playing them, though. On the other hand, if i buy them for cheap, other games I want might have gone down in price by the time i have finished them.
You don't pay anything until then, but with pre-order price guarantee you get the lowest price they have on it during the time you have it pre-ordered. the earlier you pre-order, the more chance you have of getting a deal.
I pre-ordered on Friday with 99 cent release date delivery, but am hoping that it goes down a few bucks or comes with a credit before then. If there is a collector's edition, i'll have to see what it comes with, but if ever i were to get a col...
You successfully turned this thread into a fanboy flamewar with the very first post. Not that that's any kind of record on N4G, in fact, that's pretty much the norm.
Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo 2 were on PS1.
Gran Turismo 3 and Gran Turismo 4 were on PS2.
No reason to think we won't have two GT games on PS3. And just like marioPSUC said about Forza, Plyphony Digital have the game engine in place, just have to add stuff and can have shorter dev cycle.
What you said actually was pretty ambiguous. sp1deynut just misunderstood you, and reasonably so.
There's no reason for either of you to get hostile.
I think the XBox LIVE logo shows up in all trailers and print ads, too. I'm not positive though.
Well, to be honest, the VGA's are a horrible joke and the only reason any of us watches it is for the exclusive reveals and trailers. So, yeah, you're right. Maybe in the next few years they will just post all the winners online and leave the awards show to the real reason we watch, the trailers.
This wasn't a competition, it was an awards show... er, you know what i mean.
My brother-in-law bought a HDTV, and the first thing he saw in HD on it was GoW III. He was impressed.
Any awards that are voted on by fans rather than experts are little more than popularity contests. Fastest selling game wins the award that's voted for by fans.
Being announced tomorrow.
That trailer was mostly to be expected (improvements over UC2's already amazing graphics), but that plane wreck was in-engine? Wow. I am assuming it is in-engine, but not real-time. Those water effects in the one shot were absolutely stunning, too. And that was obviously real-time.
Already got this game pre-ordered, and am now looking forward to 11, 1, '11.
Kojima Productions working on a joint venture with Quantic Dream.
Same here.
Then last night I pulled out Uncharted 1 & 2 and started playing through them for the fifth and sixth times respectively.
Kinect support doesn't necessarily mean you lose throttle control. Remember one of the first Kinect demos was Burnout Paradise, and on that you controlled the throttle by moving your foot forward. I don't know if it has enough sensitivity for good control, but a lot of people play by using only full throttle or braking, anyway.
